Solved!

Factory reset

HP Recommended
HP ENVY Curved All-in-One PC 34-b0xx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My desktop is not running as well as it should, over its life time its had programs installed and uninstalled, I decided to do a fresh installation and setup the desktop to stop some of the issues I have been having.

When I go to reset the desktop it tells me that a newer version of windows 10 has been installed and that I cant go to the original version. Does this mean that I can not do a factory reset?

Cheers

Brett

Hi:

I have never come across that issue before, but if you can't use the internal reset system, see if your PC is supported by the HP cloud recovery tool which you can use to make a bootable USB recovery drive that will reinstall W10, the drivers and the software that originally came with your PC.

Here is the info link for how to use the cloud recovery tool...

Hi Paul and group,

I may have been keen, I have tried to  reinstall my machine but it comes up with  an error, "Incorrect brand name" and has the letters AIO after the name,

does  anyone know how to fix this?

Regards

Brett

You're very welcome, Brett.

Unfortunately, I don't.

I used the cloud recovery tool once on two of the same model notebooks I have and it worked fine for both of them.

If your PC is no longer operational you may want to try clean installing W10 by using the Microsoft media creation tool to create bootable installation media.

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

After W10 has completed installing, you can install the drivers and available software from your PC's support page.

https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-ENVY-Curved-34-b000-All-in-One-Desktop-PC-series...

You may want to contact HP in Australia and see if they know anything about that error.
