Firewire driver Windows 7

I was able to connect my PC to my TV via Firewire to HDMI. I had a crash and while I have installed everything it no longer connects. It just displays the desktop image, not what is going on on the PC. When I check the drivers there is no firewire driver listed, but there must have been one before because it worked. What am I missing.

It does not have Firewire port, it only has the following ports at its back

Back I/O panel

1. USB: 4
2. LAN
3. DVI-D
4. D-SUB port (VGA port)
5. Audio: Line in
6. Audio: Line out
7. Audio: Microphone

Did you buy Firewire card elsewhere and install to your computer ? Please post your question to that vendor.

Note: Two formats use entirely different technology, there is no way to directly convert one to the other. Because of its extensive use with home entertainment systems, HDMI technology carries a copy protection signal to prevent unauthorized duplication of copyrighted material, making it incompatible with FireWire. There's also a difference in the number of wires in the cables, and HDMI carries a 5-volt signal to power peripheral devices. FireWire has no such voltage.

Your machine has DVI port, why not use DVI-D to HDMI direct cable, only one thing missing: no sound because DVI-D does not carry sound, you need an adapter similar to the following one

Thank you for your reply. I must have done that when I wanted connect my TV to my PC. I was told FireWire was better than USB.  Is there any way of finding our whose card it is, other that taking it out of the PC.

I have been doing some search around and am begining to think I am using the DVI port, and not a Firewire. Is it possible to hook up a DVI port to the HDMI port on the TV. I use to be able to get excellent video and sound output from the PC to my TV. If I can how do I set up my DVI port. Thank you.
