Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

l booted Windows & LinuxMX, but Windows was glitchy. As I don't actually use Windows, I then deleted it, and consecrated my machine to LinuxMX. However I seemed unable to purge Microsoft entities entirely from my system.

Now LinuxMX has gone haywire, and I have a grub rescue screen & a module not found.

At this point I would like to simply clean any junk including Microsoft from my hard disk, and install Fedora.

(If possible I would also like first to retrieve some data from my old LinuxMX install, which is still visible as a partition).

Boot MINT using USB flash drive but do not install it.

Mount the HDD or whatever and save your important documents.

With everything saved to another flash,  select the install option (MINT) or boot fedora and be sure to delete all partitions.

I have worked with Ubuntu and Mint but not fedora.

You did not mention your HP system.  Did you check for BIOS update before putting in linux?

Thanks Beemer. I am trying not to get to stressed. I had a Home folder, so I should be able to save documents.

Then I will try the install again. Cheers
