HP Pavilion Power Desktop - 580-100na
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I wouldn't even know where to begin to describe the technological nightmare I've had the last few days, I was installing a few games and updates the other night when my PC goes completely unresponsive, after about 15 minutes of nothing I decide to turn it off at the socket which returned me a "Critical Process Died" error, meaning there was an issue with the boot sequence and Windows couldn't load properly, to circumvent this I created a fresh copy of windows on a recovery drive, booted it up from BIOS and let Windows reinstall, which (after a few more issues) eventually got my PC back up an running and booted to desktop, however in doing so the applications and drivers which came installed with my PC when it came from the factory got completely removed, including any HP support applications, but most importantly the Headphone/Microphone combo 3.5mm headphone jack no longer works as intended (the headset itself outputs audio yet I can't for the life of me get the microphone to work, even buying a splitter and plugging it into the back didn't work) using HPs support site I have managed to find which drivers my PC needs, installing them has done nothing (There are 2 Realtek drivers but installing one will uninstall the other and neither actually does anything to make the front 3.5mm jack port work properly) and I just want to be able to talk to people, I've even been debating buying a wireless mic but if these drivers aren't working I'm not entirely sure if just ditching the wire would help, any comments or help one this matter would be much appriciated

TL;DR - My drivers and PC no longer function as intended by the factory due to a fresh copy of windows installed via recovery media, is there any way to recover my PC as it was when it came from the factory (without purchasing the £40 recovery USB HP offer)

Hi:

I recommend you reinstall W10 using the HP cloud recovery tool which your PC is supported by.

You can use the cloud recovery tool to create a bootable USB recovery drive that will reinstall W10, the drivers and the software that originally came with your PC.

Here is an info link for how to use the utility.   You will need a 32 GB USB flash drive to create the recovery media with.
