Greetings @BarneyDog1

Welcome to the HP Forum.

It is recommended to disable Device Encryption prior to doing a BIOS update.

Are you referring to the 48 digit BitLocker Recovery Key prompt at system startup? And, do you have this recovery key?

Or are you having a PIN problem? You should be able to use a password to sign in.

Check your Microsoft account for the BitLocker key if you have a BitLocker recovery key problem. It may be available there if you saved this key to your Microsoft account.

You are locked out of Windows and will not be able to access any data on the system drive if you don't have the BitLocker Recovery key.

You will have to reinstall Windows or do a HP Cloud Recovery.

Regards
