HP P6-2330
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

When trying to place some games, i.e. Double Down Casino (Facebook) it can take up to 45 minutes to completely load the game, once it has loaded, it still run extremely slow.  I have done a deep cleaning, but still nothing seems to resolve the issue. It has 909 GB available and I have only use 64GB.

@Newbee19 -- how old is the disk-drive inside the computer? It could be "failing", and be very slow.

Is your computer a notebook, with "power" settings configured to run more slowly when running on battery-power, and to run at full-speed when the power-adapter is connected?

From what I could find out, your PC appears to be nine years old -- and while the HDD is a relatively fast one, if it is the original, it could easily be failing, being this old.  And that will cause things like games to slow to a crawl.

With the available disk space you have, doing any "cleaning": is a waste of time and will do nothing to speed up the PC.

About all you can do with a PC this old to get any real speed improvement is replace the HDD with an SDD.

Thank you for your response.  I kind of thought because of the age that was probably the issue.  I have alway bought HP computers/laptops and have never had an issue with them.  I guess it's time to buy a new PC.  due to limited funds, I am thinking about an All-in-One at Costco.  What does a person do with older computers that still work accept they are not the latest and fastest technology?

Several options:

  1. take it to a local owner/operator computer store, and give it to them, for them to decide whether to "refurbish" it, or to cannibalize it for its parts;
  2. take it to an "end-of-life" recycling centre that takes all electrical/electronic equipment, and breaks it down for the precious (and non-precious: copper, steel, aluminum) components;
  3. find a local "computer club" or "hobbyist" or pre-teen person who want to "tinker" with a computer, to learn how to make hardware & software changes;
  4. find somebody local who refurbishes such computers, and then gives them away to somebody who is looking for a computer for their pre-teen to play some older computer-games, or to type their homework;
