Hi @SwaSha

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you.

  • Have you connected the PC to an external monitor and check if the error/patch persists?

For now, let us try these steps:

Try a hard reset :

1) Shutdown the computer.
2) Unplug all the Adapter and peripherals connected.
3) Press and hold down the power button for 15 to 20 seconds.
4) Plug-in the Adapter.
5) Try to turn on the computer.

Install updates using HP Support Assistant

  1. In the search box, type and open HP Support Assistant.
  2. Check for updates.
  3. If the updates are available, click on install and restart the computer.

Note: If you do not have HP Support Assistant installed, Click here to download the same.

If the issue persists, proceed to the next step:

  • Search windows for and open HP PC Hardware Diagnostics Window on your PC
  • Click on System tests > Extensive test.
  • Post the result in your next post.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Please click “Accept as Solution” if you feel my post solved your issue, it will help others find the solution.

Hi Kumar,

Thank you for your reply. I tried the above mentioned solutions for my issue but it did not work for my laptop.

Also I have been getting display flashes while working on chrome  and some abrupt restarts with the attached error message.

Waiting for a suitable solution for all the issues.Error.jpg

@SwaSha

Are you able to bypass the error and login to windows?

When you get BSOD, turn off the PC using the power button, press it continuously till it gets switched off.

  • Power ON and OFF it abruptly when the Windows logo appears during the boot process. Repeat this 3-4 times, until windows show you various recovery options.
  • Assuming you reached the Windows 10 recovery options, go into Troubleshoot > Advanced Options > Command Prompt.
  • Run following command in it:

sfc /scannow /offbootdir=c:\ /offwindir=c:\windows

  • It’ll find some errors but shall not be able to fix all. Also, run the following command then:

bcdedit /set {default} bootmenupolicy legacy

  • Now close the command prompt and reboot the computer.

Let me know how this goes.
