HP 110 217c desktop bios update for amd a4-5000

I've revived an older HP Desktop which actually runs reasonably well, but I need the USB 3.0 ports it has on the back that don't function. I've researched the driver and found that the system bios needs to be updated before the usb 3.0 driver can be successfully installed. I went to the HP support site for this PC (https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-110-200-desktop-pc-series/5399643/model/6529732) and it has a bios update, but it won't install because the update is for an Intel processor and this desktop is an AMD A4-5000 APU with Radeon(TM) HD Graphics, 1500 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 4 Logical Processor(s).

Here's the error message from the bios update program:

Intel (R) Firmware Update Utility Version: 8.1.40.1456

Error 8743: Unknown or Unsupported Platform
Cannot locate hardware platform identification
This program cannot be run on the current platform.

I went to American Megatrens site, but none of the tools thay offer are compatible with this desktop.

I'm at the end of the road as far as what I can do without some help, so I'm hoping that someone smarter than me on this forum can help me out.

Alternatively, you can download and install both of these drivers and restart the PC...
