My machine is keeping running for updating 1607's drivers

So far so good, no more W10-1803 monster showing up

I wonder why HP's systems Support Assistant did not tell customers, saying this HP Model  # etc. will not or can not be updated with Windows 10 version 1803 or else ? Or even send a msg to MS saying "Your W10 1803 will not work with our HP's models  #

Hi:

The only question I can answer for you is that there is a document that HP released regarding its support for W10.

Here is the W10 compatiblilty matrix for PC's.

My machine I bought it from W10-1607 and I update it to 1709 failed failed and I keep trying  once it sucessfully installed with 1709,

since the MS mada an announcement that old W10 version will not be able to be updated to new W10 new version after May-2018 or so ...

I belive in updating the computer but to the point updating causes my machine more worse because slow old CPU or old graphic card or even update new bluetooth driver 4.0 and for a day I reallize that my old wireless mouse can run better with bluetooth 3.0 then I have to back it up to old version

I only install those DRV program from trustable source after the MS Auto update  Feature W10-1083 makes my machine so busy.

I will receive the USB Recovery next week so I will not do restore my comp right away but wait and see how well the hide update feature from download link above doing

Your computer: HP All-in-One - 22-b022 (Touch) (ENERGY STAR) PC Product Specifications

Product Number: V8P27AA

Release Date: 3-May-2016

is not that "old".

Of course, it was preloaded with Windows 10, the '1607' (7th month of 2016) level.
You indicated that you were able to update it to the '1709' level.

I don't understand your phrasing of the announcement.
I know that the '1607' version is no longer supported after April 2018, with a few exceptions:
* one specific Intel motherboard, often used in tablet-style computers, that is not capable of running any later release,
* some corporate environments,

But, I know of no general "prohibition" against updating Windows 10 to the '1803' version -- Microsoft would prefer that you do upgrade.

Note that after installing '1803' ("March 2018"), Windows Update will find security-updates that were released in April & May & June & July, and will keep your computer "busy" for a day while downloading & installing these updates.

Also, when you receive that USB System Recovery memory-stick, it will install the '1607' version.

Then, Windows Update will keep your computer quite "busy" for a day or two, while first applying all the prerequisite updates (2016: August, September, October, November, December, and 2017: all months, and 2018: January, February, March, April) before downloading and installing the '1803' major level.

Most of the updates are "cumulative" -- you will not need to run through 21 "cycles" of Windows Update -- one per month.

Please do not "judge" the performance of '1803' until Windows Update has completed, and you have rebooted your computer.

You should consider upgrading from your "spinning" disk-drive to a SSD (Solid State Device) for much-faster reading/writing files, before you launch that System Recovery.  It will make Windows Update run MUCH faster.

  2018-04 Delta Update for Windows 10 Version 1607 for x64-based Systems (KB4093119)

The update applies to any computer with a 64-bit processor, such as your 2016-vintage computer.

Since you are NOT trying to install Windows 7, this Microsoft Knowledge Base article is NOT applicable to your situation.

Good answer!  One of the models listed on that page is: HP 22-b0xx All-in-One PC

and this author has the HP 22-b022 model from that "series".
