Hi HP Community, I installed cumulative updates on my HP 24-f0015na. The last one took hours and failed to complete.
Now, when I reboot the machine, after I enter my PIN, the message tells me it's processing windows updates... The scree nis basically white with the blue wheel of death flickering on and off for 30 seconds at a time... after an hour or so the screen starts to intermittently display the desktop as it should be. But it seems the windows can't fully open.
I've tried CHKDSK, but this shows no problems. Task Manager not much is happening to consume CPU% except mainly Windows Explorer.
If anyone has any tips on how I can recover windows to stabilise the PC it would be a great help.
Thanks,
Steve
Thanks,
Steve

I have now resolved the problem. Shift F10 allowed me to initiate a full recovery by reformatting the hard drive and a complete re-install of windows. Still don't understand why the cumulative update failed to complete and caused this problem to happen by hey, it's resolved 🙂
