Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I purchased the computer from an owner who gave me the password. The computer unlocked. According to the HP website, once in the Bios, enter the password, leave the new password blank and accept to remove the password.

I saved the settings and exited. It prompted me for the password once it reset, except now it doesn't work. I definitely didn't enter a password.  When I was in the BIOS, I was able to confirm that actually it wasn't set for stringent security. This means the password jumper should reset it all anyways which is wasn't before and isn't now. I should mention I'm not inexperienced with these things, but I'm really scratching my head on this. The only other issue is that the battery holder needs replaced, but that shouldn't be effecting the jumper situation since HP says you should remove the battery. Any help would be really appreciated.
