You may have noticed after a BIOS update that the HDD and the RAM is not detected when you boot after the latest BIOS update. After failed conversations with HP CHAT SUPPORT, the instructions on the BIOS recovery are not complete and do not work.
How I managed to fix it:
ITEMS NEEDED: 2 USB
One USB (8gb) minimum with windows 10 installation media for usb
One blank usb.
Go to hp and get the bios executable file.
in my case: https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/hp-260-g1-desktop-mini-pc/model/7375835?sku=K8L23EA&serialnumbe...
pick the os and version.
pick the BIOS and download. On the right it will say:
"No thanks, I will download and install manually"
On the PC that is running make sure you dont have Intel® Management Engine (if you do it wont dump the files to usb )
Run the sp114019.exe. Follow the prompts and save it to empty usb stick. (you will not get the option to make a bootable usb)
The following files and sizes should be on the empty USB.
08/13/2020 03:50 AM 1,140 Flash.bat
09/22/2014 11:56 PM 245,536 FWUpdLcl.exe

Grab windows installation USB
Reboot the PC windows installation and the pc should boot.
When it does, Follow the prompts and go to repair section.
Choose the option to "troubleshoot" and then select command prompt.
you can type " wimic", then " logicaldisk "to get the directory of the usb that has the bios.
type "exit" to get back to the begining.
in command prompt: select the the usb and type flash. in my case the usb was " d: "
in other words when command prompt is open: You should see X:\Sources> and you type " d: "
then you should see "D:\>" on the next line.
At this point all you would need to do is then type "flash".
It will go through the process of installing the bios and checking it.
When its all finished, the bios should be corrected and you should see the ram and hdd.
Remove all the USB and reboot. It worked for me.
