Hello,
system description:
HP 6300 Pro SFF
Windows 10 1809
USB controller: Intel(R) USB 3.0 eXtensible-Hostcontroller – 1.0 (Microsoft)
My problem is that the USB 3 ports on my HP 6300 Pro only work with USB 2.0 speed (~ 30 MB/s) when I use Windows 10.
If I use Linux Ubuntut 18.04 LTS the ports are working on 3.0 speed.
I've tried the following trouble shooting solutions:
- Uninstall all ports and hubs
- Let HP Support Assistant install the drivers (it actually works, but after one reboot the problem persists)
I've read some articles here in the board, but none of them gave me a certain driver version that I need to install.
This problem occurs on all the USB 3.0 ports.
I sincerely hope, that sombebody can help me.
Thank you in advance!

Ok, I fixed it. Turns out the problem was a faulty BIOS update.
If you want to update the BIOS you need to gradually go to 2.99 and than to 3.07 (latest), you can't just install the 3.07 update if your current version is lower than 2.99. However, the update assistant says everything was applied successfully.
Unfortunately, HP does not provide this information anymore in the new update assistants. In the older updates it explicitly stated that you have to update to 2.99 first.
So first install sp73099.exe (2.99) and then sp88543.exe (3.07) if your bios is out of date.
