22-df0058ur

Hello,

I have a problem with an HP All-in-One - 22-df0058ur.

After a windows update it's stuck in "HP BIOS UPDATE", the following message is displayed: "The System BIOS recovery failed. Unable to open BIOS image file." and it reboots in every 15 seconds.

I stumbled upon on the solution which is described in the following post: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Desktop-Operating-Systems-and-Recovery/System-BIOS-update-failed-unabl...

The problem is there is no BIOS update available on HP's "Software and Driver Downloads" page for HP All-in-One - 22-df0058ur, there is only Software-HP Cloud Recovery available in the "All drivers" section.

https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-all-in-one-pc-22-df0000a/38240564/model/37757422...

Can someone please help me with this problem?

Hi:

Please see this discussion.

Since your PC also has the same MonkD motherboard (which is the one the failed BIOS update epidemic is happening to), you can use the same file I posted in the other link within that discussion.

Thank you.

BIOS recovery drive with the F.41 BIOS update file worked.

You're very welcome.

Which method worked to restore the BIOS after you made the recovery drive?

I asked the other person and they never replied back.

Thanks,

After I created the recovery drive, I just pluged it in the HP AIO and powered it on. Then the BIOS recovery process started on its own, and after it was completed, the AIO restarted itself.

Thank you very much for your feedback.
