Not necessarily.

I have seen it go both ways...purchased recovery media didn't work but cloud recovery tool-made media did.

Cloud recovery tool media didn't work, but purchased recovery media did.

Will likely do the w10 install just to confirm, got nothing but time at this point.

HP Recommended

Yes, you may as well get your PC back up and running again before you receive the recovery media from Computer Surgeons.

Sorry @Paul_Tikkanen

that is precisely what i am saying , the translation does not seem to be correct ?

The original meaning is just that the user does not have to worry And use your solution

I specified that hp also offers this solution then I don't quite understand your confusion

" indicated by HP support"

sorry Maybe with a different twist, it would have been more understandable for you.

"" Hi
do not bother @jvolek
you should use paul's solution ""

Is it ok for you now?

Did they indicate if they would be posting a corrected version of the image, prior to posting this thread, I was directed to a 3rd party by HP to purchase the image software: computersurgeons.com, wondering if it's the same image, the folks at comptersurgeons.com had no idea.

Don't buy anything, you can reset the computer for free @jvolek

And just how would we do that, I am looking for the image to provide the client at the conclusion of this issue!

I need an easy fix solution for the client for any future issues.

Thanks, John

the end user...the owner of the PC

Assuming the worst, and the HP recovery media purchased via the Computer Surgeons doesn't work either, you can advise your customer to use a free disk imaging/recovery program such as Macrium Reflect to create a system image and bootable rescue drive that they access the system image from after they set up the PC the way they want it with their account, password, etc.

That is the program I use, and it works great.

The software on the left side of the page under the Backup at Home section.

Macrium Software | Reflect Free Edition

If the customer is giving you carte blanche to set the whole PC up for them, then you can do this for them.

I save the image on a portable hard drive, but you can use two DVD's/USB flash drives--one to create the bootable rescue media with, and one to put the system image on.

That would be better than nothing.
