Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

Okay I moved across country after I purchased my computer and I have not updated my BIOS. Current installed BIOS version is F.07 and the latest update is version F.42. I know, I know...

Tried to update, but I'm getting the dreaded "Unalbe to open BIOS Image File."

I've updated everying Windows and HP has available and still won't open.

Could it be I will have to go back and install all older versions to get to F.42?

If so, does anyone have a link?

Thank you for your help,

Reffy

@Reffy,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

I checked the specifications of your computer and see that the latest BIOS available for your computer is F.32 Rev.A.

I recommend you download and install the BIOS from the below link and check if it helps.

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp92001-92500/sp92486.exe

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!

Hello The_Fossett,

Thanks for the feedback. I downloaded and executed the .exe and the program was unable to install as well.

Your note indicates the latest BIOS is F.32 Rev.A.

My HP Support Assistant shows it to be F.42. (see screenshot below)

Interesting...

Any thoughts on how to proceed?

Thank you,

Reffy

@Reffy,

I recommend you uninstall HP support assistant and then reinstall it and check if it helps.

Based on the product details you have shared F.32 Rev.A is the latest BIOS available.

Please share the product number for your computer so that I can double check that and send you the correct link to download the BIOS.
