Both the touch screen and speakers do not work after an automatic upgrade yesterday morning. Headphones work, but not speakers. Touch screen does not work.  I am new to PC world and find the fixes just daunting to read. I've gone through several steps now and nothing is working. Hi @Kathie345,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I understand that you are facing issues with the touch screen and speaker. I'd like to help!

Since you mentioned that, there was an automatic update, can you please help me with what is that update you are referring to?

And you also mentioned that you have tried several steps, could you tell me what troubleshooting have you done?

Meanwhile, try the following steps mentioned below.

Touch screen

1)In Windows, search for and open Device Manager.

2)Expand the Human Interface Devices heading.

3)The touch screen device is labeled HID-compliant touch screen, or similar. Right-click the touchscreen device and select Uninstall.

4)Confirm the uninstallation.

5) Restart the computer to reinstall the touch screen driver.

For the speaker, issues follow the steps below.

Step 1 Run Audio troubleshooter -

1) In Windows, type "Find and fix audio" into Search, or right-click the speaker icon on the taskbar and select Troubleshoot sound problems.

2) Select Find and fix audio playback problems or Find and fix audio recording problems from the Search results.

Step 2 Re-install the Audio drivers -

1) In Windows, search for and open Device Manager.

2) Double-click Sound, video, and game controllers.

3) Right-click on the Audio drivers and click on uninstall.

4) Restart the computer.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
