HP ENVY TouchSmart 23se-d394
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I need your help please!  I have an HP ENVY TouchSmart 23se-d394 All-in-One Desktop PC.  We upgraded to Windows 10 from Windows 8.  After the upgrade my beats audio was GONE completely...all icons, all traces of files when I would search the computer for them, etc.  I was not real worried about it because I rarely used the audio in depth.  Now things are different and I use the computer for several applications.  I NEED the sound to work properly with headphones and microphone.  Right now they do not!  I have tried reinstalling the IDT Audio Codec based on the support website by model number and my beats audio icon and software is not coming back (file sp63441.exe) .  I have also read on some forums that there will need to be other software reinstalled in order to see the on-screen items that work with Beats.  I have also searched for just the reinstall download of the beats audio software and it is all tied in with the audio codecs and from what I am NOT finding, cannot be downloaded again by itself.  Can you please help me??  I am so very frustrated and have searched forums and watched YouTube videos and all until I simply do not know what else to try.  I do NOT want to have to reset my computer back to Windows 8.  I teach computers at a local school and have my computer set up with Win 10 and other Microsoft Office programs just like the school so that I can answer student questions remotely if necessary.  Thank you for ANY help that will work!!!

Hello Jacanjo

Windows 10 tends to kill BEATS for some reason.

Download the HP Win 8.1 IDT audio driver for your PC, sp63997. exe.

Try installing this version. If you have a problem then go to Devive Manager and uninstall IDT audio, remove drivers from PC if prompted, then reboot the PC and try sp63997.exe again.

This method has worked for me after the Win 10 upgrade and loss of IDT audio functions.

I tried this link to reinstall the beats software and got this message:

The requested URL /pub/softpaq/sp71501-72000/sp71717.exe  was not found on this server.

Actually, even though I got the error message, it still downloaded the file and IT WORKED!!!!!!  THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH!!!  I have stressed over this!

Hi  Grzwacz,

I registered with this support group to personally give you a BIG, BIG thank you for your solution to this problem; you posted more than 2 years ago.  I have just followed your suggestion and it has worked for me after the recent Windows 10 upgrade resulted in a loss of audio on my device.  I have just spent 6 hours trying to rectify the sound loss after the update and I finally came across your post and I downloaded the sp63997.exe you posted the link to and followed your instructions and it worked; some 2+ years since your post.  Thank you so, so much; as you have saved me from factory resetting my much loved device back to windows 8 and losing all my files and settings. If everyone who have suffered from loss of audio from their IDT High Definition Audio software after updating their Windows 10 devices, download and follow your instructions, the driver link you posted does still work and will link with software and restore sound to your device via use of Device Manager.

Sorry for the lengthy post; I'm very tired, but happy that you have solved my issue.  Once again, thank you very, very much.
