This all-in-one went dark and it was out of warranty so I took it to ibreakufix in my area (maimi) and they diagnosed it as having a bad internal power supply. But they say they can not fix it and they tell me to come pick it up. This happened to one of my all-in-ones in the past and my computer repair guy at the time put in a new power supply. Why are they saying they can't fix it? Should I try another repair joint? Is this truly not fixable?

Just because one All-In-One has a replaceable power-supply does not imply that EVERY All-In-One has a replaceable power-supply.

Cynically, it may be beyond their "skill-set" to attempt a repair.

You may be able to purchase a replacement power-supply, from HP:  http://PartSurfer.HP.com

Or, you may be able to look on eBay to find a "selling for parts" computer that is exactly the same as yours, and "transplant" its power-supply (ask the seller if it was working) into your computer. A "good" seller might be able to remove the power-supply from the computer, and ship only that part to you, to save on shipping cost. (The US Postal Service may have a shipping-box of the type "if it fits in the box, we will ship it for a flat-rate".)

Or, find a local, qualified, HP-certified, computer technician who can examine & try to fix it.
