Hi. Each time I try to do a restart, the All in One Envy PC won't restart. I end up holding the power button in for a bit to force a shut-down and a restart, and I get a message that says the CMOS checksum is invalid. The CMOS will reset to the default configuration.....it then does a restart, but then I have to reenter a Bitlocker recovery key to get back into Windows. I just did a BIOS update and complete system diagnostics test. There were some drivers/firmware that needed updating that I hope will fix this. Wondering if there's anything else I should be looking at or be concerned with?

Greetings @davemsn

Welcome to the HP Forum.

Your PC's CMOS seems to be unstable.

The first thing you should do when you are in Windows is disable BitLocker.

BitLocker enabled in conjunction with an unstable: BIOS and CMOS is a recipe for loss of data access on the encrypted drive.

Go to Control Panel>Device Encryption to disable BitLocker.

Then try all CMOS troubleshooting steps at this HP Site.

All troubleshooting steps include recovering the BIOS using a USB BIOS recovery drive.

The above link has a link to a second HP site explaining how to create and use a USB BIOS recovery drive.

Regards
