Microsoft Windows 11

My laptop was running slow so i did a force restart. Upon turning it back on, it just keeps spinning and never boots into windows. I have tried doing a start up recovery which failed. I have lots of personal files that i need and getting them off the drive is proving to be very difficult. Different PCs don't recognise it and when i boot off external SSDs they also don't recognise the internal drive. I am lost as of what to do.

Model: HP ENVY x360 Convert 13-bd0508na (519K8EA)

Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi @Chippysixty-9

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I'm sorry to hear about the trouble you're experiencing with your HP Envy x360. Here are a few steps you can try to address the boot issues and potentially recover your files:

Check BIOS Settings:

  • Restart your laptop and quickly press the Esc key (or F10) to enter the BIOS settings.
  • Look for boot options or storage settings to ensure your Intel Optane disk is correctly recognized.

Use Safe Mode:

  • Try booting into Safe Mode by pressing Shift + F8 during startup. If successful, you may be able to access your files and perform diagnostics.

Perform a Hard Reset:

  • Disconnect any external devices, unplug the AC adapter, and remove the battery if possible.
  • Hold the power button for about 15 seconds to discharge residual battery. Then reconnect everything and attempt to start the laptop.

Check for Device Recognition:

  • Try connecting your drive to another computer using a SATA-to-USB adapter to see if it gets recognized as an external drive.

Run Windows Recovery:

  • Use a Windows 11 installation media to boot your computer and select "Repair your computer".
  • Attempt system restore or repair options available through the recovery environment.

Professional Data Recovery:

  • If critical files are inaccessible, consider consulting professional data recovery services to see if they can retrieve data from your drive.

Let me know how far you get with these steps. I’ll guide you through whichever path you choose next—we’re not giving up on your files.
