I bought this HP 590-p0066 last year. I have upgraded Windows as suggested, but it is still unusable. No matter what I do the disc still reads 100% capacity. I recently upgraded ram, still runs like crap. There is nothing on this hard drive except whatever comes with this computer - microsoft, etc. Please advise how I can get this running so I can actually use it.

First thing I would do is run the utilities below to clean out junk from the drive. That should free up a lot of space...
Here are some things you can do to recover some of the disk space:

Also, the community Win10 Forums has the following suggestions:

Finally, there is a freeware app known as Wise Disk Cleaner. I use it every day to get rid of junk files: https://www.wisecleaner.com/wise-disk-cleaner.html
If the PC then still runs very slowly, This issue is often due to a failing drive.
If your PC is new enough to support UEFI, you can use these steps to test the HDD (Hard Disk Drive): http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c00439024
If not, to check the HDD you have to follow these steps:
1) Press Esc key repeatedly, several times a second, while rebooting the laptop. Do NOT hold the key down, just press it over and over.
2) Eventually, you will see an HP Startup Menu
3) Press the Function key for testing the hard drive (usually F2) and let it run.
If the drive checks out OK, then report that and I can provide you options for reinstalling Windows on your PC.
Please note that if your model has an SSD instead of an HDD, these diagnostics might not work properly.
