HP Pavilion All-in-One - 27-a250qd
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My all in one desktop did not come with a recovery disc, as OS recovery is currently included as a partition of the hard drive. The  hard drive is busted and no longer working. I bought a new hard drive to replace it  but how can i restore the OS on the new hard drive? How can i get the license i got for the OS from HP and can i use that to activate a new  OS that i may get from Microsoft?  Basically, i am looking for a way to still use the license i got and setup windows OS on on my machine instead of buying a new OS license. My machine is almost 4 year old and the warranty is already expired.  I can't seem to find a way to even talk to anybody from HP.

Hi:

The windows product key/license is in the BIOS.

You don't need it to reinstall W10.

You have two options.

Install W10 for free by making bootable installation media using the media creation tool at the link below.

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

After W10 has completed installing, you can install the drivers and available software from your PC's support page.

The other option is to pay for W10 recovery media from HP.  You can order recovery media for your PC at the link below.
