Hi
I have HP Pavilion Desktop - 550-254na (ENERGY STAR).
Device name DESKTOP-QL8SMD5
Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-6400 CPU @ 2.70GHz 2.71 GHz
Installed RAM 8.00 GB (7.90 GB usable)
Device ID 6BE5485C-A950-4A7F-AE0D-B2B5CEC10BF3
Product ID 00325-80593-15732-AAOEM
System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
Pen and touch No pen or touch input is available for this display
------------
Due to the CPU, my PC doesn't currently meet the requirements to upgrade to Windows 11.
I wonder if I can just replace a CPU that's compatible to W11 - would someone be able to recomment which one to purchase?
OR as my PC is now 6 years old, should I ditch the whole thing and get a new one?! (It's currently working fine, though I had to re-install W10 yesterday as it was in the automatic repair mode loop and wouldn't boot)
Thanks for your help.

Hi:
Your PC's motherboard does not support any processor upgrades to a W11-supported processor.
If you want to upgrade to W11, you can but you would need to use one of the W11 hardware check bypass methods to do that.
I found this method to be the easiest way to do that on the unsupported for W11 PC's I upgraded to W11 on:

Before upgrading to W11, I recommend that you make a system image of your current W10 installation prior to updating to W11, so you can easily reinstall W10 in the future. I used the free Macrium Reflect software to do that, under the Backup at Home section.
Along with the system image, make sure you create the bootable DVD or USB rescue drive you boot from to access the system image stored on your portable hard drive.

Does it continue to work well?
wait a bit before changing
Because nothing says, that it will be better with windows 11, in this case!
Indeed sometimes it goes well, but sometimes not, many users return to windows 10 then ..
