HP Pavilion Desktop - 570-p047c
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello, Bought a .....HP Pavilion Desktop - 570-p047c  1 1/2 years ago ....warranty expired in July 2018. Hardrive just went out. My wife and I purchased a higher priced model as we believed it would last as long or atleast more like 4-5 years, but as a customer I would have to say I am fairly disappointed with the product. I am just wondering if it is a common thing on these PC,s or is there a recall on the drives or anything?. I have kept this, (as I have with all my PCs) very clean, free of dust and dirt, and always had virus protection as well. It had just completed a check 3 days ago and nothing wrong. I have owned several other computers and even other HP,s but this is the shortest life span of any PC I have ever had.

Greetings,

Welcome to the forum.

I am not a HP employee.

HDDs and fans are usually the first components to fail; they have moving parts.

I have seen HDDs fail within days after first use. Some HDDs run for for years and years and years. You never know when a platter HDD is going to fail.

Replace the HDD with a SATA SSD. A SSD has no moving parts and is much faster than a platter HDD.

Regards
