Microsoft Windows 11

I have read other comments with Prior Questions. Many of your PC's That are not supported by HP are still working into the far future.

I have read the specs on this Product Number Z5M52AAR. I had to push Windows 11 Home on this Desktop as Microsoft does not support the processor. While there is No Ability to Upgrade the processor on this Model, Considering it has a Upgraded Power Supply and an Upgraded Video Graphic card. Windows 11 Home Runs Perfectly with no Issues at all .

What is lacking with this recipe is a Bios Upgrade that supports the operating system of Windows 11. I would like to Enable UEFI.  This Motherboard has TPM 2.0.

Microsoft keeps the devices Updated Software / Devices.  I feel the least that HP should so is help in this matter.

@Dave10241,

Welcome to our HP Community forum!

My friend, your HP Pavilion Desktop - 570-p056 (Z5M52AAR) uses the Lubin motherboard (SSID 82F2), which is based on Intel's 7th-generation platform (Kaby Lake).

A few key points about your system:

  • Processor support: Your motherboard can be upgraded up to an Intel Core i7-7700K, but it does not support any of the newer 8th-gen or later CPUs that Microsoft lists as "Windows 11 eligible". This limitation is hardware-based, and not something HP (or any BIOS update) can change.

  • TPM 2.0: Your Lubin motherboard already includes TPM 2.0 capability, so that requirement for Windows 11 is met.

  • UEFI support: The Lubin BIOS does have UEFI mode available, but since this platform was designed for Windows 10, HP has not released and will not release a "Windows 11-ready" BIOS for it.

  • Why HP cannot provide a BIOS update: HP's BIOS updates only enable support for hardware that the platform was originally engineered for. Adding support for CPUs outside the Intel 7th-gen family (or modifying the firmware to bypass Microsoft’s Windows 11 requirements) would involve changes beyond HP's validation and support model. In short: HP cannot change the fact that Microsoft only certifies Windows 11 starting with Intel's 8th-gen processors.

What this means for you:

  • Since you've already installed Windows 11 and it's running smoothly with your upgraded PSU and graphics card, you can continue using it.

  • Windows Update will keep your OS patched and secure, even though the processor is officially unsupported.

  • You won't see any HP BIOS updates that will add Windows 11 certification or new CPU support for this model.

Summary: Your PC is capable of running Windows 11 with TPM 2.0 and UEFI, but the Intel 7th-gen CPU family is not officially supported by Microsoft. HP cannot change this with a BIOS update. You can keep using Windows 11 as you are now, but there will not be further BIOS enhancements to make the platform "officially" Windows 11 certified.

Kind Regards,

The PC already has the CPU from the Factory a i7-7700K

It is currently Running Windows 11 as I had to go a round about way of installing it. At first it ran very sluggish until windows update identified what that machine needed and installed patches and other updates.

The Only thing this Computer needs in the ability to Boot quickly.  with no further updates from HP,  I am at Peace with it.

I am pleased that I have a Computer that responds and operates so much better on Windows 11 than Windows 10 ever did with this PC.

@Dave10241,

Well, since you are at peace with your PC, there wasn't really any purpose for me to answer your question.

@Dave10241,

Rude?  I really shouldn't respond, but for you -I'll make an exception.

What is rude is that when I clearly devoted time and effort to answer a question then seeing that the OP is rating his own response as the solution.
