Microsoft Windows 11

Recently, my brother has been having an issue with his HP laptop where he could not log in. We realized it was impossible to login in as his email didn’t technically exist as it was ‘@pun.com’ at the end, (it needed WIFI to log in too) as well as the fact my brother had accidentally put it as a recovery email when it doesn’t exist, so it came to a constant dead end in trying to log in. We’re assuming that this ‘email’ was a 'Microsoft account' for the sake of only logging in.

My uncle, a networking engineer, tried to fix it through a factory reset but the laptop couldn’t reset at all, kept saying there was an error/problem that couldn't allow it to reset, since we decided it was best to wipe out everything on the laptop and start it anew so we can still at least login in. He advised that there are others in the field that can wipe out everything without those steps, like a disk, but I'm not too sure.

The laptop is quite new and is still under warranty, I wanted to ask if the warranty covers this issue and if it can.

All that we want is just to completely reset the laptop and wipe out everything, so we won't go through the constant login issues, and it'll be anew.

Thank you.
