Hi My HP Recovery disk shows 2.22 GB free out of 17.8 GB. A previous reply I received advised not to store anything to this drive, which I do not do. My AVG virus system analyzed the Recovery drive and said that 99.86% of the used space on the recovery drive is made up of 127 .WIM files at 15,872,287 KB.
What is a .WIM file? Can any of them be deleted? A previous reply also said I won't run out of room on the recovery disk, but I have seen posts from people whose computer stopped due to running out of room on this drive.
Should I be worried, can I delete any files?
Thanks.
Rob83.

The advice you received the first time you asked the question is still valid:
In those cases where the Recovery partition is still intact (able to perform its function), it is unnecessary that you interfere with the partition's contents.
In other words, unless you (as in "you, yourself") have accidentally ADDED files to the partion in a misguided attempt to use what storage space is available, leave the partition alone.
The wim file is is an image file.
Ask Siri, ask Alexa, ask Cortana, or search for the answer using your favorite search engine.
