I am attempting to repair my father’s HP Slim Desktop. After a crash, the system began reporting that the boot device was inaccessible. After numerous unsuccessful attempts to unlock and repair the BitLocker encryption, we decided to proceed with a fresh installation of Windows on the NVMe drive that came with the machine.
While the installation was successful, Windows attempted an update, and now I am unable to get a display over HDMI or RGB output; my monitor reports “no input.” I’ve confirmed that the monitor and cable are working properly with my laptop. Additionally, the system continuously power cycles, only remaining steady after removing and replacing the CMOS battery before booting.
I’ve created a BIOS recovery flash drive, but attempts to trigger BIOS recovery with both WIN+B and WIN+V have been unsuccessful. The system continues to power cycle.
At this point, I’m wondering if this issue points to a definitive hardware failure or if there are any known issues with this system related to Windows 11 or BIOS.
