HP Spectre x360 - 13-ap0044nr
Linux

I use Fedora Silverblue on my HP Spectre x360 Convertible 13-ap0xxx. I would love to be able to get firmware updates, BIOS or otherwise, through LVFS on my Linux distribution. The fwupdmgr command seems to show that I have supported components, but I cannot find any updates on the LVFS website:

fwupdmgr get-updates
Devices with no available firmware updates:
• SBAT
• System Firmware
• Thunderbolt host controller
• WDC PC SN720 SDAPNTW-512G-1006
Devices with the latest available firmware version:
• UEFI dbx
No updates available
Other vendors like Dell and Lenovo have good LVFS support. Please extend support to laptops like my HP Spectre x360 Convertible 13-ap0xxx.

Welcome to HP Support Community, @Bob_Hopper

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Thank you so much for sharing your input   it’s truly appreciated! 😊

It’s great to see the effort you’ve put into checking compatibility through fwupdmgr on Fedora Silverblue. I completely understand how valuable streamlined firmware delivery through LVFS would be, especially when other ecosystems like those from Dell and Lenovo already provide strong support.

Your request for extended firmware (BIOS, system firmware, Thunderbolt, etc.) availability is clear, thoughtful, and absolutely reasonable. Feedback like yours helps highlight the importance of broader Linux integration, and it will definitely reach the right teams for consideration.

Thank you again for taking the time to voice this so constructively — we’re grateful for passionate users like you who help drive innovation forward! 💙

Wishing you a wonderful day ahead, and thanks for helping make technology even better for the Linux community! 🚀

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
