CLEAN install of Windows 10 version 22H2 with all updates.  CANNOT install the HP support assistant because it is flagged as unsafe.  I downloaded and attempted to install the file anyway and it did not install.

I never had this issue before.

What is the deal with this HP?  This needs to be fixed.

You're very welcome.

I guess HP removed it from the Store because I just did what you did.

Could not find it doing a search within the store.

Then I clicked on the link I posted for you and clicked on the 'Get instore app' and the store opened, showed the HPSA but no link to download it.

Since you already tried installing the file you downloaded and it didn't work, the only other suggestion I can offer, would be to try installing an older version of the HPSA and it should update to the latest version itself.

Hi:

You can also get the app from the Microsoft Store.

HP Support Assistant - Microsoft Store Apps

I would hope that it will install from Microsoft's own store without a problem.

Thanks for the reply Paul.

When I search the Microsoft store for "HP support assistant" it is not found

When I use the link you provided, there isn't a place to download it.

I was never able to get it from the Microsoft store.

Thanks

Thanks Paul

I installed the file you provided then the windows store said there was an update for the support assistant and installed it.

Strange you can't download the full install from the Microsoft store, but it will update an old version to the latest.

Thanks again!

Paul,

Installing the HP support assistant this way isn't working anymore.  I can download and install the older version in the link you provided, however when the Microsoft store update is applied, it will no longer open and reports an error.  I have tried it on multiple HP machines and every time the Microsoft store update is applied the SA won't open.

Any idea what is going on with this?  Is HP aware of the issue?

Here is a photo of the error I receive when launching the SA after it updates from the Microsoft store:

Hi:

Since I don't work for or represent HP, I wouldn't know if they are aware of the problem or not.

I checked the HPSA website, and they haven't updated the software there either.

You may want to install an older version that may not affected by the Microsoft Store.
