Good night,

I wanted to report that after installing the last BIOS update (F.32 Rev.A) for my laptop (Victus Gaming Laptop 16-s0004ns (7Z4G5EA)) the screen started blinking, turning off and on. Also the led of the Bloq Mayus and the Turn On switches were blinking at the same time with the screen. This blinking went increasing to the point the laptop seemed to be shot down but it wasn't. So I installed the last version (F.31 Rev.A) and everything went fine again.

I hope that can help you in future updates.

Hi @mcam13,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

It is common for BIOS versions like F.32 Rev. A to cause screen flickering, blinking LEDs (Caps Lock/Power), and boot loops on HP Victus laptops. You did the right thing by rolling back to F.31 Rev. A . It is advised to stay on that stable version until HP releases a patched update.

Consider these key steps to ensure stability and address future updates:

  • Stick to the Working Version: If F.31 Rev. A is fully stable, you can safely continue using your laptop. BIOS updates are only critical if they address security flaws or hardware conflicts affecting your system.

  • Prevent Automatic Installs: Prevent Windows or the HP Support Assistant, HP Support Assistant | HP® Support from forcing the unstable F.32 update again. You can manage and hide specific driver updates using Microsoft's 'Show or hide updates' troubleshooter tool.

  • How to Rollback: If you ever need to perform a BIOS rollback again, use HP's BIOS Recovery Mode. Turn off your PC, hold down the Windows + B keys, press the Power button for 2–3 seconds, and release the Power button while still holding Windows + B to initiate the recovery screen.

I hope this will help.

Take care and have a good day.

I'm an HP Employee.
