Microsoft Windows 11

Recently bought a HP Zbook FireFly G10 laptop workstation came with Windows 11 Pro on it. I wiped the windows and installed Ubuntu Linux 22.04 ion it, is there any chance to recover the Windows 11 Pro Licence Key? I want to install the windows back.

People say the key must be labelled on the device somewhere but I don't see it anywhere. Could it be somewhere in the Bios?

Thanks,

Yes, if your PC came with Windows, the key is encrypted in the BIOS.

You don't need the product key to reinstall W11.

You can use the HP cloud recovery client utility to create a bootable USB recovery drive to reinstall W11.

Here is an info link for how to use the utility:

The people telling you about the label are wrong -- such labels on laptops went out when Windows 8 appeared on the scene all those years ago.  Now. the product key is embedded into the firmware of the BIOS.

You will need to boot from Windows to be able to run a utility to see the product key.
