Dear HP Forum,
We would appreciate advice on options to proceed (including abort & buy something else) please.
Our HP-all-in-one has windows 10, 64 bit 0s, 8 Gig ram
Had intermittent BSOD after windows updates, so per recommendation, replaced the hard drive to SSD.
Still BSOD on start, took in to a different repair shop which did the usual clean-up but found no problems.
BSOD became permanent on every start-up, so we updated drivers and ran all the Windows tests we could find.
It became very slow so we did all the tests in HP Support Assistant and HP PC Hardware Diagnostics, plus implemented HP website support suggestions - all came back as 'passed'.
Task Mgr was at 100% CPU, disc'd Realtek RTL8822BE adapter, is looking OK now, except when trying to open anything.
EXCEPTION: Windows Memory Diagnostic came back as 'detects no errors', but says at the initiation "Hardware problems were detected - to repair you will need to contact the computer manufacturer.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thank-you!

Hi:
You have a defective memory chip.
When you get that immediate yellow message 'Hardware problems were detected - to repair you will need to contact the computer manufacturer.'
Since your PC only has one 8 GB memory chip installed according to the product specs, if you can do the work yourself, it would be relatively inexpensive to fix.
Here is the link to the service manual where you can find the memory removal and replacement procedure.
Upgrading and Servicing Guide (EMEA with shipping label) (hp.com)
Here is the link to what should be a compatible memory chip.
You may even want to buy two of them and max out the memory.

Hello Paul,
WOW! Thanks so much for the quick reply. This is fantastic news, we can certainly replace the memory chip ourselves using the links you've added. We like your suggestion of adding 2 chips while we're at it.
We'll let the community know how everything works out when the memory chips are done.
Thanks again and have a great day!

Thank-so much Paul!
We installed the 2 new memory chips as you suggested (sourced them locally) and followed HP install instructions.
Now the Windows Memory test passes OK! The speed is much better too.
PS-weren't able to click on any of the 'thumbs up icons' to show our appreciation?
