HP Pavilion All-in-One PC 24-k0000a (7TC07AV)

I purchased my HP all-in-one two months ago. The latest issue with this computer has been the fact that after a Windows update yesterday, it has wiped my Windows PIN and demands I re-set it. It goes to log me in to windows but then a second screen demands I send a security code. I have done this several times and the security code never arrives. I have even tried updating my security info so now I can’t even send a security code as the security info takes thirty days to approve and I can’t cancel it as it requires, guess what, a security code, which never arrives. Short of wiping the computer and resetting (I had issues signing into one drive so my files are only backed up via email), what else can I do? I spent 90 minutes on the phone to a ‘technical expert’ at windows who had no idea and refused to re-send a security code or re-set the system. I have tried everything including wiping and re-setting the computer but keeping the files and still the same thing happens. I had twelve happy years with Apple. Someone help me and make sure I didn’t regret the move.

hi

it seems to be a problem with your microsoft account, there is nothing that can be done for you here
unless you can create a new microsoft account, or log in with a local account

we cannot help you here, regarding the password
For a user account
the only option, if you can't, is to use factory recovery, which is annoying, as it can lead to data loss
You will need to contact a computer person who, if honest, will ask for proof that the computer is yours.

I ended up solving the issue - I had to completely wipe and re-set my computer.  Yes, it seems to have been an issue with a 'buggy' update from Windows.

Sorry for that, that was all I could offer you here.
thanks for the feedback, and for marking the answer!
in the future, little advice that I never do, see to create a second administrator account, it can help in case of problem
If you don't use it, it will only take up a little extra space.
