So, in my HP assistant support it shows disk storage failed (SMART status Pred Fail)  but when I run the HP hardware diagnostics it shows all my disks are fine.
Should I do any other test to see whether my disk is at risk? What caused the HP assistant support to fail the test?

Hi @sk228,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The discrepancy between the HP Assistant Support "Disk storage failed" warning and the clean bill of health from the HP Hardware Diagnostics can be frustrating. Here are some steps you can take:

  • Run extended tests: Both HP Assistant Support and Hardware Diagnostics should have options for more thorough tests that run longer and check for wider issues. Look for "extended" or "comprehensive" testing modes.
  • Check event logs: Windows Event Viewer may show errors related to storage devices. Look for errors with Disk or Storage keywords.
  • Update drivers: Ensure you have the latest drivers for your storage controller and chipset, You can find these on the HP Support website using your product model number.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.-
