HP Pavilion 590-p0040

I updated my bios per the HP question mark on the toolbar and the CPU will not stop rebooting. My CPU was running great until I tried to update the bios. HP needs to be responsible to fix this problem.

Hi,

Sorry to hear this. HP Support Assistant BIOS updates can wreak havoc on PCs. Don't do this anymore.

Do a manual BIOS update. This (Link) is the correct BIOS update for your motherboard.

You will need HP factory service if all steps to recover the previous BIOS at this (Link) don't help.

I will refer your issue for assistance but this forum is mostly volunteer members having no association with HP. No guarantee HP will fix this at no cost to you.

Regards

Well, it didn't work. If you can do anything else I would appreciate it.

I'm taking it to a repair shop but I'm really not happy. The CPU was working great before I clicked the HP (?) on the bottom of the toolbar. I guess we all learn the hard way. I hear a little voice in my head saying "If it ant broke don't fix it". Well, let's see how much this is going to cost. I still think HP is responsible for this.

Hi,

Look for a local PC tech having the know how to reprogram the BIOS.

Otherwise you need HP factory service.

Don't do HP Support Assistant BIOS updates in the future. You are not the first person having a bad HPSA BIOS update brick the MB.

You are right, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Yes, HP should fix this at no cost to you. I am a volunteer in the forum and don't work for HP.

HI@DREW8463, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Request you to follow the below troubleshooting steps from the document:-

I understand that you're unable to update the BIOS HP Pavilion 590-P0040  and it needs to download one by one and needs to restart the computer to make sure the Adapter or Charger needs to be connected,
