Hi:

I have an 8000 Elite CMT and it is very hard to find the right memory for those PC's in order for the memory to work.

I bought the right memory for my PC, added it in the empty slots, powered up the PC and it worked just fine.

I didn't clear the CMOS before installing the memory.

All I did was to unplug the PC, press the power button to drain any residual power to the motherboard and install the memory.

I seem to recall that the only thing I had to do after I turned on the PC was to press the F1 key afterward and the PC recognized the additional memory.

If the PC doesn't boot up and you get a 5-beep code error, either you didn't firmly seat the memory in the memory slots or you installed incompatible memory.

You can't just install any 4 GB DDR3 memory chip.
