The following folders are in the "Documents" folder one OneDrive:

  1. hp.applications.package.appdata
  2. hp.system.package.metadata

Can I delete these? Can hp help move them? I don't want to just hide them. I'm purging this folder as my computer has created another Document folder in OneDrive that is being used instead. I can easily move them to the new Documents folder but since I don't know what these are for, I don't know if such action would break things. HELP!

Should tell you up front that I'm not a fan of Cloud solutions -- as they tend to be both insecure and unreliable -- but from your description, it sounds like you either checked the "Make all files available" option in the Choose Folders function of One Drive, or you specifically selected HP Folders for the same function.

Either way, all that did is COPY those folders to your account in One Drive.

Problem is, if you have Free Up Space also checked, when you remove those from OneDrive, it will likely remove them from your PC, as well.

For expert advice on OneDrive, you really need to contact Microsoft -- since it is their product.

I have the same problem and I urgently need to organize my working space the right way because I am working on my site. Please help me with finding the solution.

@Ayadyly

OneDrive is an MS solution, not HP.

There are plenty of tutorials out there on using OneDrive -- you just have to look for them.

Thanks for your reply WA but...

However they got there, I need to understand if they play an important role in my computer and, if so, how to safely move them. Microsoft won't know that. I need HP help.

@RickyDB

There is no way to "safely remove" anything from OneDrive.  If you remove it, it's gone.

I don't use OneDrive as I don't support Cloud Storage -- as it's a complete waste of time and money (for me) -- so, as I said, you will have to look for online instructions on how to do this.

Not to seem ungrateful, WA, I would like to hear from someone who knows the answer. While I understand your bias against cloud solutions, I would argue that it is safe to remove something that isn't needed - even from OneDrive. If it's a duplicate, it is not needed. If it only provides functionality for something I don't need or care about, it is not needed. So, my question is not a OneDrive question or a cloud question. It is an HP functionality of these files and where they should be stored (so I can tell if these are superfluous duplicates) question.
