Hello everyone, about 5 years ago I had purchased the HP omen 30L which came with a HANA motherboard b550 chipset. About a 3 weeks ago when shutting down my computer to start it back up i came to the problem that It wouldn't power up my monitors or even my mouse/keyboard. I took it to a local BestBuy like I was told to do and they gave me the answer after 2 weeks that they could not pinpoint the exact issue with the PC and they believe it is something with the motherboard, they said their reasoning for not being able to give a for sure reason is because of proprietary hardware issues. Everything inside of the computer works like A charm i believe, all fans on the graphics card and computer are running just fine, everything lights up but I am unable to get power to exit the computer and boot something up and it is very annoying because the only motherboard replacement I can find on eBay is 300$ and I can't even get a definite answer if that really is the problem. So I am coming here almost as a last ditch effort to hopefully find a solution or even an step into the right direction. i have read that this has happened to other people but really don't want to gamble with the possibility that I am experiencing the same issue for 300$.

Greetings @Huntxman
Welcome to the HP Forum.
Well, you're kind of in a tough situation.
The PC is about five years old. Components tend to fail around this age.
I don't think I would spend $300.00 on eBay for a like-kind HP MB. The HP MB is proprietary.
You could probably buy a new B550 MB at a much lower cost but you could have some compatibility problems with the HP front panel stuff and any case RGB.
I would also do a new case if you go with a retail MB like Asus or MSI. You could use the remaining components installed in the 30L if they work.
I don't know how Geek Squad troubleshoots component failures. I would get a second opinion from a reputable, local PC Tech before buying a new MB and case.
Some other component besides the MB (or in addition to the MB) could have failed.
Regards

Thank you so much for this insight, I kind of was thinking the same thing but one thing about what BestBuy had said troubled me. When they brought up that they had a issue with "proprietary hardware" it made me think that finding a solution or another tech that could help me would be nearly impossible. Anyways, thank you for your help I will try to keep this Forum updated

Greetings @Huntxman
My pleasure.
I think Geek Squad were referring to the HP MB and the HP case.
All other components should be standard stuff. I think the factory power supply is made by Cooler Master.
You could probably buy: a new MB and a new case for less than $300.00. This would be possibly worthwhile if all other components work. But there is no way to know when the next component will fail.
A PC Tech should test bench your PCs add-in components using a known good: MB and the HP power supply. A pass means all other components work.
Then the Tech could then test bench your PC's MB (to verify the MB is bad) using a known good: power supply, CPU, and RAM.
I've seen some weird stuff over the years (very unusual) where the MB should fail in the above scenario but it seems to work outside of the case.
