I purchased this notebook with windows 10 installed.Having had problems with win 10 updates and other things,I changed over to Linux Mint 18,completely.My question is,can I re-install win 10 with the usb recovery stick,or do I need to download the ISO.?I don't have the product key for the previous system and there is no boot configuration data for windows. What do I need to do to re-install win 10? Thanks for any help.

You can purchase a USB Recovery key from HP at this link.
You can also create a Windows 10 USB Installation Media and Manually install Windows your self.
I would prefere purchasing the USB Recovery media because it is the OEM Factory install of Windows from HP.

The product Key is programmed into the motherboard and when you start the installation it should auto detect the key and select the correct version of Windows. You might be better off purchasing the USB Recovery Key and using that to reinstall Windows.
