HP23-h024 install windows 7

I have an HP Pavilion 23-ho24 and it had windows 7 on it.  and the site shows support for winodows 7. but when I try to install winodws 7 it doesnt recognise a hard drive installed. I cant find the proper drivers for the controllers.

Hi:

Windows 7 does not need any storage controller drivers for your PC's processor and chipset.

If you are installing W7 from a USB flash drive, then you need to boot it from one of the rear USB 2 ports because W7 does not have native USB 3 support to install.

I have zipped up and attached the W7 storage controller drivers for the AMD chipset your PC has.

I would be shocked if these solve the problem, but I guess you have nothing to lose by trying them.

You were right. Im at a loss.  I have disabled UEFI, set it to IDE, and turned off secure boot and set to legacy. and still not HDD. sees it fine if I try to install windows 10 or 8. I cant get the recovery cds from HP for windows 7 64bit. or if they even have them.

I'm at a loss as well.

HP no longer sells recovery media for your PC, and if they did, the kit would have been for W8.1 which is what the PC orginally came with according to HP.

I checked this site which has recovery media for your PC, and it comes as no surprise to me that the only recovery kit available is the one for W8.1.

What version of W7 are you wanting to install?  Home or Pro?

Do you have a W7 product key you can use for one of the above versions?

If so, let me know and I will give you the link to the last released W7 ISO for the version the key is good for and make a bootable USB installation drive with the file.

When you install W7 you must have secure boot turned off.

You can use the Microsoft tool that I zipped up and attached below to transfer the file to a USB flash drive.

You will need an 8 GB USB flash drive since this file is much larger than the original one released in 2009 and it won't fit on a standard DVD.

You can also use the free Rufus utility if you prefer.

Remember to boot the flash drive from one of the USB 2 ports in the back of your PC.

Secure boot disabled in the BIOS.  W7 is not compatible with secure boot.

Hopefully this will work for you because if it doesn't, I am stumped.
