HP Touchsmart
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

HPKEYBOARD.EXE running over 40% cpu. Have recently replaced batteries in both wireless mouse and keyboard but is there a fix to stop the high cpu. Drivers checked and all up to date.

What happens if you open the Windows Task Manager, select that task, and right-mouse-click to select "End Task" ?  Does your keyboard still work? If not, use your mouse to harmlessly shutdown & restart Windows.

Can you physically remove the batteries from the keyboard & mouse, and temporarily connect a USB keyboard and a USB mouse?  Still high CPU usage?

Thanks but it seems to have calmed down now so perhaps it was linked to the replacement of both the keyboard and mouse batteries. Also did a full reboot.
