I received a warning about my IP address being hacked. A number ([edited]) was provided to call for repair. I called the number and the technician was able to access my computer and showed me that a hacker had tried to access my information over 600 times. The longer I was on the phone, the more I felt something was fishy. Has anyone else experienced this.

If you are accessing the Internet through an ISP (Internet Service Provider), then your IP address is assigned by their Domain Name Server (DNS) and is most likely changes every time you restart your PC and connect to the ISP.
So basically, the claim that your IP address has been hacked is a scam because it is not a physical thing.
They SAID they accessed your PC, but do you have any PROOF of that -- or are you only taking their word for it.
Next time someone claims to be able to access your PC, create a new text file on your desktop, put the phrase "SCAM call" in it, and ask them to tell you specifically WHAT is contained in the file you just created. Unless you specifically then grant them access to your desktop, they will make excuses and NOT be able to tell you what is in the file.
There are lots of scams like this on the Internet.
