My laptop was unable to boot and having tested for issues I've found that the Hard Drive 1 has failed (Failure ID M4U02M-8T5A3L-MFPUQK-60QR03). How do i fix this? This is my main machine so ideally needs fixing instead of replacing

The error code means the drive has failed and needs to be replaced, but some models come with an eMMC drive and those may not be able to be replaced.

If the hard drive cannot be replaced, what can i do?

After you replace the drive, you can reinstall W10 by using another Windows PC and a 32 GB USB flash drive to create a bootable recovery drive with the HP Cloud recovery tool.
