Turn the computer off.
Turn the computer on, and immediately keep tapping the 'F2' key, to launch the HP Hardware Diagnostics.
Run the "short" (a few minutes) test of your disk-drive.
If the result is a "fail", then don't run the "long" (many minutes) test, because it will not provide additional information.
Two possibilities:
1. your disk-drive is totally unreadable. It is necessary to purchase a new disk-drive, and to re-install Windows onto it. Reload your personal files from your backup (assuming that you have one).
2. your disk-drive is in "imminent failure" status -- not dead, yet, but soon. In this case, purchase a new disk-drive, and run free "disk-cloning" software to copy, block-for-block, from "source" to "target" disk-drive. Then, boot from the new disk-drive, and you'll have all your programs and your setttings and your personal files.
