HP laptop pavilion

Hard drive error.  Had the looping repair hard disk error messages, but didn’t work.  Ran hard disk check and DST failed,  failure I’d M4KTNK-97RA1K-XD7W3F-60WW03.

Hello,


The test found a problem with your hard drive and it may need to be replaced. If possible, back up your personal files to a flash drive or external hard drive as soon as you can.

The error code reported, Hard Disk 1 Quick Test Failure, means the hard drive needs to be replaced and the operating system reinstalled.

 

Below is the link to the service manual where you can find the hard drive removal and replacement procedure.

After you replace the hard drive, you can make a bootable USB recovery drive using the HP cloud recovery client utility to restore W10, the drivers and software that originally came with your notebook.
