HP ENVY H8-1450
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

I kept getting blue screen with CRITICAL PROCESS DIED and then It would restart and the HP logo would come up and my screen would come up where you normally enter a login pw but I did bot use one. Sometimes it would have user and pw but I never had one. It would then go to a blue screen and say there was an error and tgen onto the blue screen saying gathering info. It kept going between the two blue screen errors. I could not get anything to come up pressing esc or any F key on restarting. Finally I got F2 to work and rand test. I got FAILURE ID 0GFW68-0009H5-WPVX0K-60V503 though I paid for an extended 3 year warranty that has expired. I started having problems after receving a bad windows update. The pc would restore to the last working version of windows but I couldn’t fix the issue to get windows to work properly for long.

Hi:

The code you received, Hard Disk 1 Quick Test Failure, means that the hard drive needs to be replaced, and the operating system reinstalled.

Consult the upgrading and servicing guide at the link below for the hard drive R & R procedure.

http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c02871896

After you replace the hard drive, you can reinstall W10 for free as follows...

You can make a W10 USB flash drive installer with the Microsoft Media Creation Tool, using an 8 GB flash drive using another Windows PC, if your PC is not working.

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

If you are asked to enter a product key during the installation process, select the 'I don't have a product key' option, and W10 will install and automatically activate once you are connected to the internet.

Here are the steps to create the W10 USB flash drive installer...

Select Download tool now, and select Run.

If you agree to the license terms, select Accept.

On the What do you want to do? page, select Create installation media for another PC, and then select Next.

Select the language, edition, and architecture (64-bit or 32-bit) for Windows 10.  You want 64 bit.

Select which media you want to use:

USB flash drive. Plug in a blank USB flash drive with at least 8GB of space. Any content on the flash drive will be deleted.
