How do I do a hard reset on my hp desktop

Hey @Mike1459,

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're stoked to have you on board! 

 

To help us get started on resolving your issue, could you please share your HP unit's serial number or product number with us via private message?

To access your private messages, simply click the private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Support Community profile, next to your profile name. 

 

However, you can try these steps to hard reset your desktop

 

  1. Power off the computer.

  2. Disconnect the AC adapter.

  3. Remove any discs from the disc drive.

  4. Remove memory cards from the card reader slot.

  5. Disconnect all nonessential peripheral devices, such as printers, scanners, external hard drives, and USB flash drives.

  6. With the AC adapter unplugged, press and hold the power button for approximately 15-20 seconds.

  7. Reconnect the AC adapter and then power on the computer.
