Hi.
I have a desktop with Windows 8, and wanted to upgrade it to Windows 10. But in order to do so I'll need my Windows product key. Unfortunately I noticed that there is no sticker for that on my desktop.
There is a sticker for the HP Serial number, Product number, and Model number, but nothing about Windows.
Windows support said to contact the manufacturer of the computer for this issue, so that's why I'm writing this here.
Is there any way support could help me with this?

Hi:
The windows 8 product key is in the BIOS, and you won't need it to upgrade to W10.
The free upgrade period to W10 ended quite some time ago, so you will probably have to pay in order to upgrade to W10.
An any event, I have zipped up and attached a free utility below, that will show you the W8 product key in the BIOS.
You can see if you can get W10 for free if you are asked to enter a product key during the installation process, select the 'I don't have a product key' option and see if W10 activates after installing. If it does, you won't need to buy it.

Thank you so much, Paul!
I read that even though the free upgrade period ended, there was still a way to do it from Windows site for free if you have a product key for Win 7 or 8.
I'll see if what you mentioned works, but in any case it'll be good to have the product key for 8 in case I need to re-install 8 again.
And I'll try your tool to get the info from my BIOS.
Thanks a lot! ^_^

You're very welcome.
Yes, you may be right about still getting the free upgrade to W10.
I came across this article...you could at least as of Oct 13, 2018...

Oh, that's nice!
The article I read ( https://www.howtogeek.com/272201/all-the-ways-you-can-still-get-windows-10-for-free/ ) was posted in March 2018, so October should hopefully mean that it still applies today.
Thanks a lot!
